About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced Profile Burner / Lumsden Grinder Operator to join our busy fabrication workshop. The successful candidate will be responsible for cutting and grinding steel plate components to precise engineering specifications.
While professional experience and qualifications are key for this role, make sure to check you have the preferable soft skills before applying if required. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong fabrication experience and a solid understanding of heavy steel processing. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate oxy-fuel and/or plasma profile burning machines (CNC or manual) Cut steel plate to engineering drawings and required tolerances Operate Lumsden (rotary surface) grinding machines Grind components to specified thickness and flatness Carry out dimensional checks using measuring equipment Maintain machinery and change consumables as required Follow all health & safety procedures Requirements Proven experience in profile burning and Lumsden grinding Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Experience working with thick carbon steel plate Good understanding of tolerances and surface finishes Strong attention xehkeey to detail Overhead crane experience (preferred but not essential) What We Offer Competitive salary (DOE) Overtime opportunities Stable, long-term position Supportive workshop environment PPE provided If you are an experienced operator looking for a secure role within a growing company, we would like to hear from you.
