P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our clients, who are currently looking for a Production Team Leader on a full-time, permanent basis based in Great Yarmouth.
Our client is seeking a people‑focused Production Team Leader who is passionate about developing others, driving continuous improvement, and shaping a high‑performance culture. Working closely with the Production Manager, you’ll lead from the front on the shop floor – engaging your team, embedding Lean ways of working, and championing positive behavioural and cultural change to deliver safe, efficient, and high‑quality production.
Position Summary
You will be responsible for the supervision of the Test & Diagnostics function, supporting the Production Manager with day-to-day management of production tasks and staff to ensure efficient operation and achievement of targets. You will provide supervision to the team, coordinate workloads, monitor any issues and escalate as necessary.
Main Responsibilities
Ensure people and resources are applied in an efficient and effective manner to meet business commitments and objectives. Planning resource availability and cover.
Support the Production Manager in the achievement of manufacturing throughput, identifying any bottlenecks, risks, or operational constraints to meeting manufacturing targets.
Ensure team members follow defined manufacturing procedures and comply with quality and safety requirements.
Ensure team members are aware of day-to-day targets and their responsibilities for meeting those targets. Hold T1 cell reviews and support T2 reviews.
Take proactive corrective steps to resolve or mitigate risks to achieving manufacturing targets. Escalate to the operational management team any risks identified.
Own and provide information in support of production metrics and routine reporting (SPQCD Boards, ERP system, QPulse, Gemba walks etc)
Attend and contribute to daily meetings with detailed knowledge of work status.
Provide supervision and support to the team, monitoring performance and task completion. Carrying out performance management activities including one-to-one appraisals, return to work interviews, holiday management and support team members with ongoing development.
Consistently promote, advocate, and uphold high standards of cultural behaviour and performance to team members aligned with company principles.
Identify and lead continuous improvement opportunities within manufacturing area, ensure full adherence to 5S practices and use data to make decisions to improve the area.
Lead departmental lean initiatives, own and manage department visual manufacturing boards and support site CI initiatives, such as data capturing and problem solving to create flow and efficiency.
Responsible for training or coordinating training of team members and that training records are up to date and monitored regularly. This includes multi-skilling, skills matrices, identifying gaps and creating plans to address.
Identify, support and improve people’s performance and positively develop good working morale in your area.

Leadership & People Skills
Strong supervisory and team‑coordination abilities
Ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members to achieve performance and behavioural expectations
Confident in addressing performance concerns and promoting a positive work culture
Operational & Technical Competencies
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, workflow planning, and production targets
Ability to recognise bottlenecks, risks, and process deviations, taking proactive corrective action
Competence in using production reporting tools (e.g., SPQCD boards) and supporting daily tier meetings
Communication & Collaboration
Clear and effective communicator able to support team briefings, reviews, and cross-functional meetings
Able to escalate issues appropriately and provide accurate, timely information
Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving
Knowledge of Lean principles and 5S methodologies, with ability to lead small CI initiatives, embedding standard work, 5S and visual management
Some experience applying structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g. root cause, 5 Whys, Fishbone/Ishikawa, PDCA, A3)
Data-driven mindset – comfortable using data to analyse performance, identify improvements, and support decision-making
Engaging and coaching team members in problem solving techniques, encouraging ownership and continuous improvement behaviors
