Job Description

We are recruiting for a Production Team Leader – Value Streams to join a high-technology manufacturing environment based in Avonmouth, Bristol. This is a key leadership role where you will take ownership of shift operations across production and test processes, driving performance through strong people leadership and continuous improvement.


As a Value Stream Production Team Leader, you will lead, coach, and develop a team of technicians while working closely with fellow shift leaders and reporting into the Value Stream Manager. You will play a critical role in delivering safety, quality, cost, delivery, and productivity targets within a complex, low-volume, high-technology manufacturing setting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a shift-based value stream team across production and test activities
  • Coach, mentor, and develop technicians to drive performance and technical capability
  • Drive Lean and continuous improvement initiatives across the value stream
  • Deliver safety, quality, cost, delivery, and productivity targets
  • Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Quality, and Engineering teams to meet customer requirements
  • Represent the value stream during customer visits and external audits
  • Support compliance audits and maintain external accreditations
  • Contribute to manufacturing strategy, best practices, and operational improvements
  • Support new business initiatives and assess manufacturing impacts
  • Commit to ongoing training and professional development


Education & Qualifications

  • Engineering degree, relevant apprenticeship, or equivalent practical experience
  • Lean Green Belt (or equivalent) highly advantageous


Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience leading and developing technicians in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of high-complexity, low-volume manufacturing processes
  • Ability to motivate, inspire, and hold teams accountable to high standards
  • Confident decision-maker with strong planning and organisational skills
  • Strong IT literacy and data-driven approach to performance management
  • Effective communicator who collaborates well within a wider leadership team
  • Open to innovation and new ways of working
