PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

Our client is in the electronics manufacturing sector, and they now need to make the key hire of a Production Supervisor. In this role you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of the production staff. The supervisor ensures that production schedules are followed, safety standards are maintained, and the team is effectively trained and managed to meet company goals for quality, efficiency, and output. This role requires a hands-on approach to problem-solving and process improvement in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily activities of production personnel to ensure that production runs smoothly and meets the required specifications, deadlines, and quality standards.
Direct, mentor, and motivate a team of production operators and technicians. Provide training, assign tasks, and conduct performance evaluations.
Ensure that production schedules are followed and adjust manpower or resources as necessary to meet deadlines or overcome operational challenges.
Monitor the production process to ensure adherence to quality control guidelines and perform in-process inspections to minimize defects or rework.
Ensure that all safety procedures and protocols are followed by staff and that the working environment is compliant with health and safety regulations.
Quickly identify production bottlenecks or equipment malfunctions and work with maintenance teams or other departments to resolve issues and minimize downtime.
Work with management and engineering teams to identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase product quality.
Maintain accurate production logs, reports on output, downtime, and any issues affecting production efficiency. Communicate performance metrics to management.
Assist with tracking inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to ensure uninterrupted production and minimal overstock.
Coordinate with engineering, quality assurance, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and resolve any production-related issues.
Ensure that production staff is properly trained in all relevant processes, safety protocols, and quality standards. You'll need experience in a supervisory or lead role in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the semiconductor or electronics industry. You need the ability to lead, manage, and motivate production teams to meet goals with a strong understanding of quality control principles and production efficiency metrics and familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing setting.
