Job Purpose:
As a Production Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in assisting the Production Manager with all production activities. Your mission? To lead changes within the production teams that reduce waste and enhance quality, ultimately maximising production efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain open lines of communication with the Production Manager to ensure production schedules are met and backlog risks are mitigated.
Monitor production output across the factory, promptly reporting any issues to the Manufacturing Manager.
organise and allocate resources effectively within the manufacturing area, ensuring the right people are in the right roles at the right time.
Act as the primary point of contact on shift, guiding staff on daily priorities and focusing on adherence to production schedules.
Drive team engagement in Continuous Improvement Activities and ensure everyone is briefed on operational performance and improvement plans.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of production documentation, alongside maintaining the Visual Management Board.
Monitor break times and shift changes to optimise efficiency.
Facilitate regular team briefings to ensure all operators understand their KPIs.
Promote consistency and teamwork across shifts in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Strive for "first-time right" quality output, addressing non-conforming products and collaborating with the Quality team for corrective actions.
Champion Health & Safety improvements, ensuring compliance with PPE protocols and legal standards.
Assist in shop floor inductions for new employees and agency staff.
Manage the people aspect, including performance and absence management, ensuring adherence to company procedures.
Coordinate and drive Improvement Initiatives as part of the company's Continuous Improvement Programme.
What You Bring:
At least 3 years of proven experience in a manufacturing environment in a similar role, with a focus on managing people.
recognised expertise in production, best practise techniques, and company systems.
A natural ability to guide, support, and nurture your team.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, allowing you to work seamlessly across all functional areas.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing techniques and experience applying Lean Methodology (5S).
A proactive approach to solving issues in a timely manner.
Desirable Qualifications:
IOSH Managing Safely Certification
NVQ Level 2 or above in Performing Manufacturing Operations
Leadership and Management Qualification
