Job Description

High-volume manufacturing | Cutting, pressing, tin plating & assembly\n Location: Birmingham\n Salary: Up to £50,000\n\nOur client, an internationally recognised manufacturing business in Birmingham is seeking a Production Process Engineer to support the development, improvement and sustainability of manufacturing processes across cutting, pressing, tin plating and assembly operations.\n\nThe role:\n \n Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the role focuses on improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), driving Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, reducing scrap, improving throughput and supporting robust operator training standards. \n\nThe position will also support the specification, procurement, installation and commissioning of new automated machinery and production line layouts.\n\nKey responsibilities: \n\nImprove OEE and manufacturing cycle times to increase throughput\nLead scrap and downtime reduction initiatives\nDrive Continuous Improvement (CI) across manufacturing processes\nSupport quality improvement, root cause analysis and corrective actions\nOptimise manufacturing layouts to improve flow, safety and efficiency\nLead elements of automation and capital equipment procurement, from specification through to commissioning\nDevelop process documentation, SOPs and operator training standards\nUse data-driven problem solving to diagnose issues and implement sustainable improvementsThe person: \n\nExperience in a Production or Process Engineering role within manufacturing\nKnowledge within metal processing environments (cutting, pressing, plating or assembly )\nExperience with Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma / CI methodologies\nKnowledge of ERP systems (SAP )\nExperience with 3D CAD / CAM and AutoCAD is advantageousThis is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to play a key role in manufacturing performance improvement and automation projects within a growing engineering environment.\n\nTo apply, please submit your CV quoting job reference 10302
