I'm working with a market leading business in Greater Manchester who are currently seeking a detail orientated and organised Planning Production Engineer to join their growing team. You'll be joining a business who are a key supplier into major Aerospace and Defence firms, hence an already established background in these areas is highly desirable.
The Production Planning Engineer supports the efficient flow of manufacturing by planning, coordinating, and controlling production activities. You'll work closely with teams across the business to ensure accurate data, clear schedules, and smooth delivery of manufacturing work.
What You'll Do
Plan and schedule production activities using internal systems.
Maintain Bills of Materials, part numbers, routes, and planning data.
Produce and update manufacturing documentation.
Monitor capacity, resources, and workflow to keep production on track.
Support estimating, budgeting, and time allocations for projects.
Coordinate with procurement, suppliers, and stores on material availability.
Monitor progress through KPIs and participate in planning meetings.
Review designs for manufacturability and support process improvements.
What You'll Bring
Experienced in production planning within a manufacturing environment.
Strong attention to detail, organised, and able to prioritise effectively.
Confident working under pressure and managing changing workloads.
Good communicator with internal teams and external suppliers.
Comfortable using Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
Problem-solver with a practical engineering mindset.
Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent experience preferred.
