Location: NW10, London — On-Site (5 days per week)

Salary: £26,000 – £35,000 (depending on experience)

Role Overview

The Production Operative / Technician will play a key role in supporting the assembly, integration, and testing of electric vehicle components within a production environment. Working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams, the successful candidate will follow build processes, assist with mechanical and electrical assembly, and ensure high standards of quality and safety are maintained throughout production.


This role is initially offered on a temporary basis with a clear pathway to permanent employment, making it ideal for individuals looking to build a long-term career within the EV and automotive technology sector.


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out assembly and production tasks for EV components and sub-systems following technical instructions and engineering drawings.
  • Assist with mechanical and electrical assembly, wiring, and integration of vehicle components.
  • Support testing, inspection, and quality checks during the production process.
  • Identify and report production issues, faults, or deviations from specifications.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, and production staff to ensure build schedules are met.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and build records where required.
  • Follow all health, safety, and quality procedures within the production facility.
  • Assist with inventory management and material handling where required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimise production processes.

Requirements

  • Experience in a manufacturing, production, automotive, EV, or technical assembly environment.
  • Ability to follow technical drawings, instructions, or build procedures.
  • Hands-on experience with tools, equipment, and workshop practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Flexible and proactive approach within a fast-paced production environment.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working within automotive, EV, aerospace, robotics, or advanced manufacturing industries.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, or battery systems.
  • Experience with prototype builds or low-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Relevant technical qualification (engineering, automotive, or manufacturing).
