The Role

Sofina Foods is seeking reliable, hardworking Production Operatives to join our fast‑paced, collaborative team at our South Quay Coated site. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in food manufacturing, working with a wide range of high‑quality fish products.

Payrate: £12.71 per hour

Shift: The hours of work for this role are rotating weekly; 06:00‑14:00 / 14:00‑22:00 Monday to Friday.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Support the safe, efficient production of food products, following all relevant procedures and standards
• Carry out a variety of key production tasks, including feeding materials, packing into inner and outer cartons, box making, and palletising
• Prepare and handle fresh and frozen fish and ingredients in line with product specifications
• Perform line feeding, decanting, weighing, and mixing of ingredients
• Complete polybag sealing, cartooning, lidding, collating, and packing (individual and catering packs)
• Stack and palletise boxes, while maintaining the flow of ingredients and packaging on the line
• Ensure equipment is functioning effectively and raise issues when necessary
• Adhere to all hygiene, safety, and quality standards
• Escalate concerns to the Advanced Operative to support achievement of the shift production plan

• Able to work as part of a team in a busy production environment
• Aware of hygiene, quality, and safety requirements in food manufacturing
• Flexible and open to a rotating shift pattern
• Food Hygiene Level 2 is an advantage, but not essential – full training will be provided.
