Production Mill Operator – Pulper\n\nLocation: Lancaster\n Salary: £25,515.36 per annum + overtime\n Shift Pattern: 7am–7pm (2 days / 2 nights / 4 off) – followed by extended rest period\n Employment Type: Full-time, permanent\n\nWe are recruiting a Production Mill Operator (Pulper) to join a well-established industrial manufacturing site based in Lancaster. This is a key, standalone role within the production team, ideal for someone who enjoys responsibility, hands-on work, and learning complex machinery.\n\nThe Role\n\nYou will provide pulper and mill support to ensure consistent product quality, equipment reliability, and efficient factory output. Working independently, you’ll be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nOperate and monitor pulping machinery to ensure smooth and efficient production\n\nControl and audit operating costs against centreline settings\n\nAccurately record production output, downtime, and performance data\n\nCarry out routine maintenance, cleaning, and daily FLT checks\n\nTroubleshoot day-to-day operational issues\n\nAdhere strictly to quality, health & safety, and site procedures\n\nDesirable:\n\nOperator Experience \n\nOr Ex Forces \n\nTraining & Onboarding\n\nDay 1: Health & safety, HR induction, team introductions\n\nDay 2: SOPs, procedures, and risk assessments\n\nDay 3 onwards: Job familiarisation with a buddy\n\nUp to 3 months of weekday training before moving onto shifts\n\nWeekly catch-ups and monthly probation reviews\n\nOngoing accredited training (FLT, cranes, MEWP, IOSH, confined space, first aid, and more)\n\nPay & Benefits\n\n£13.63 per hour\n\nOvertime available weekly if desired\n\nSaturday: time and a half | Sunday: double time\n\nSalary increase scheduled for February 2026\n\nAfter probation:\n\nMonthly household product allowance\n\nVouchers & wellbeing portal\n\nEarly pay access\n\nExtended rest periods built into the shift cycle\n\nProgression\n\nThis site promotes from within.
