Job Overview:
As a Line Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the production line. You will lead and supervise a dedicated team to meet production targets while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. Working alongside the Supervisor and other departments, you will drive operational excellence, optimise productivity, and foster a collaborative work environment. Your leadership will directly impact our ability to deliver high-quality products on time and uphold industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Line Setup & Operation: Lead the setup and operation of the production line, working with the Technician department when needed to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Team Leadership: Supervise and lead a team of production personnel (permanent and temporary staff), ensuring tasks are assigned efficiently and production targets are consistently met.
Training & Mentorship: Train, mentor, and support new team members in understanding Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and best practices for production.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure full compliance with company policies, quality standards, Health and Safety regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to maintain a safe, efficient, and legal working environment.
Production Efficiency: Monitor and assess production line efficiency, quickly identifying areas for improvement. Work closely with the Supervisor and Engineers to implement solutions that enhance productivity and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
Problem-Solving & Issue Resolution: Respond swiftly to production line issues, collaborating with the team to resolve challenges and keep the line moving smoothly.
Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Maintenance, Supply Chain, Quality) to ensure production goals are achieved and orders are completed on time. Regularly communicate production status and updates to relevant stakeholders.
Quality Control & Documentation: Perform quality checks throughout the production process, completing necessary paperwork to track and record efficiency, quality, and production outcomes.
Maintenance & Housekeeping: Ensure that machinery and equipment are well-maintained, and the production area is clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.Key Skills & Attributes:
Team Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team in a manufacturing environment. Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly delegate tasks, provide feedback, and foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail, ensuring that every aspect of the production process meets quality and safety standards.
Organisational & Time Management Skills: Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and maintain smooth operations under pressure.
Manufacturing Experience: Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with an understanding of production processes and equipment.
Problem-Solving: Quick to identify problems and take action to resolve them, minimising downtime and production delays.
Positive Attitude: A proactive, can-do attitude towards change and process improvements, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Flexibility: Ability to adapt to varying shift patterns and work overtime as needed to meet production demands.
