Key Responsibilities of a Production Engineer
• Plan, coordinate and improve all CNC milling operations in line with production goals
• Develop and optimise CNC milling programmes for quality and efficiency
• Select appropriate tooling and cutting parameters to maximise productivity
• Lead continuous improvement and lean manufacturing projects
• Provide training and mentoring to CNC machinists and operators
• Troubleshoot milling-related issues and implement corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and ISO/IATF standards
Key Skills of a Production Engineer
• Experience in production engineering, specifically within HAAS (or similar) CNC milling environments
• Strong knowledge of CNC programming and CAD/CAM (e.g., EdgeCAM, Fusion 360)
• Ability to analyse tooling and cycle time data to improve throughput
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
• Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills
• Recognised qualification, apprenticeship, or timeserved experience
