What you’ll be doing:

You’ll lead a diverse team delivering through life System Safety activities across Products and Services. Working collaboratively, you’ll develop and maintain key safety documentation, ensuring clear, consistent, and high-quality outputs across all areas of responsibility.

You’ll assess emerging safety risks, guide engineering teams on safety evidence, and support inclusive knowledge-sharing. Coaching junior colleagues, you’ll help maintain hazard logs and contribute to safety reporting, while engaging with partners and customers through System Safety Group activities.

Core duties:

  • You’ll have experience authoring and approving safety documentation or technical reports, with a strong understanding of Safety Management Systems
  • You’ll bring proven experience from Product and Service safety environment (inclusive of FFA, ZHA, FTA, FMECA)
  • You’ll be professionally registered (IEng/CEng) or actively working towards accreditation
  • You’ll have a solid understanding of the system and/or software engineering lifecycle
  • You’ll demonstrate a good working knowledge of relevant engineering standards and best practices

The Product Integrity Team:

You will be leading a team of Safety Engineers responsible for managing routine and urgent safety issues across the F-35 platform in line with the programme’s Safety Management System (SMS). You will play a key role in safeguarding platform safety, ensuring that risks are identified, assessed and addressed efficiently and effectively.

This position requires a high level of initiative, strong decision-making capability, and the confidence to work collaboratively with industrial partners, customers and wider stakeholders across the globe. Clear communication and the ability to build strong working relationships are essential to maintaining safety governance and driving timely resolution of issues.

The role also offers development opportunities, with the chance to broaden technical expertise, grow leadership capability, and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of safety processes within a high-profile and fast-paced programme environment.
