Product Manager - Optics / Precision Instrumentation
Location: LeicesterSalary: £60,000 - £70,000 + competitive packageType: Permanent | Full Time
A global technology manufacturer, known for producing high-precision optical and scientific instrumentation for advanced industries is recruiting a Product Manager to support a growing optics-focused product portfolio.
Role OverviewThe Product Manager will lead product lifecycle activities from concept through to development, launch and ongoing improvement. You will work closely with R&D, production, sales and marketing to define strategy, drive product roadmaps and ensure commercial success.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead full product lifecycle activity including market analysis, roadmap development, requirements and product launch
  • Build business cases, define user requirements and translate market needs into engineering specifications
  • Support customer engagement through demonstrations, sample testing and application support
  • Create product messaging, technical content and marketing collateral
  • Track competitor offerings and identify market gaps and growth opportunities
  • Maintain product quality standards and collaborate with cross-functional teams internationally

Skills & Experience
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering or Physics
  • 5+ years' experience in precision engineering, optics, photonics or similar technical sector
  • Strong communicator with experience working with R&D, sales and operations
  • Experience in product management or technical project leadership
  • Customer facing experience with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
