Product Manager (with a Focus on AI Innovation)
New Yesterday
Springpod is on a mission to level the playing field when it comes to careers. We help young people explore what’s possible, connect with real opportunities, and take steps towards a future that feels right for them, not just the one they fell into.
Our platform connects students with employers, universities and industry professionals through virtual work experiences, career tasters, and more. And as we grow, we’re putting a big focus on how we can use AI to make things better, for our users, our customers, and our own team.
The Role
We’re looking for a Product Manager to support across all layers of product, from high-level strategy to getting stuck into the details and working things through with design and engineering.
The day-to-day will cover everything from shaping the roadmap and writing requirements to testing releases and figuring out what to build next. You'll be helping us ship better features, faster, and making sure what we’re building actually works for the people we’re building it for.
On top of that, we’re also looking for someone who’s confident with AI. That doesn’t mean being a data scientist, but you’ll need to be curious, hands-on, and excited about finding useful ways to apply AI across the business and within our products. We’ve got a few AI-powered features already, and we’re keen to do more — in a way that’s smart, safe and actually helpful.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to work on stuff that matters, help us build things that make a real impact, and push us forward when it comes to innovation, without losing sight of the basics.
What You’ll Be Doing
Core Product Responsibilities
- Turn strategic goals into clear product requirements that devs and designers can actually work with
- Define user stories, workflows and acceptance criteria
- Own the product lifecycle — from discovery and research through to delivery and iteration
- Help run user research and gather insights to make sure we’re solving the right problems
- Work with the Head of Product to shape and prioritise the roadmap
- Collaborate closely with design and engineering to build and ship quality features
- Keep stakeholders in the loop and manage expectations without promising the earth
- Track success metrics and user feedback to keep improving what we’ve built
- Stay curious about the market and keep an eye on what others are doing
- Be a bridge between technical teams and the rest of the business
- Spot ways AI can be used to improve how we work, whether that’s content creation, reporting, customer support or something else entirely
- Help shape and improve our AI-powered features for students and customers
- Be the go-to person for practical AI adoption internally, helping other teams understand what’s possible and where it’s worth exploring
- Keep up to date with new tools and trends, and bring useful stuff to the table
- Highly competent at designing new and improved processes and working with department heads to use and embed AI solutions to increase efficiency
- Solid experience in a Product Manager role (or something very similar)
- A good grasp of how AI tools work and where they can (and can’t) be helpful
- Comfortable managing the end-to-end product process and not afraid to get into the detail
- Confident working cross-functionally with engineers, designers and other teams
- Able to translate the complex into simple, understandable ideas
- Curious, collaborative, and keen to make things better
- Able to use influence and authority to get things done even outside of immediate remit.
- Not precious about being right — just focused on getting to the best outcome
- Sage Employee Benefits, including retail discounts and online GP
- Quarterly performance bonus
- Cycle to Work Scheme
- Discounted gym membership
- Work from anywhere in the world for up to 10 days per year
