Role / Job Title:Product and Platform SpecialistLocaion :London, 3 days / weekContact Duration - 6 months The Role The Product and Platform Specialist Principal will own the end-to-end product and platform strategy for an observability and telemetry ecosystem, covering OTEL collectors, OTEL/OPAM agents, Kafka-based data pipelines, and time-series data platforms.This role acts as the bridge between CIO-level stakeholders, architecture, and engineering, ensuring business requirements are converted into scalable, production-ready platform capabilities.The role is hands-on at the blueprint, POC, and platform design level, with strong accountability for tool selection, platform roadmap, and value realization. Your Responsibilities Product & Platform Ownership Define and own the product vision and platform roadmap for observability and telemetry platforms.Lead blueprint and target-state architecture for OTEL-based data collection, Kafka ingestion, and time-series data storage.Drive tool finalization and POC execution, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and non-functional requirements. Observability & Data Platform Leadership Own platform scope including:OTEL CollectorsOTEL AgentsOPAM AgentsData pipelines to Kafka BusTime-series and telemetry data storageEnsure platform designs support high scale, low latency, resiliency, and extensibility. CIO & Senior Stakeholder Engagement Act as the primary platform representative in CIO and senior leadership discussions.Translate executive requirements into clear product capabilities, milestones, and success metrics.Present architecture options, trade-offs, and ROI-driven recommendations. Requirements & User Story Conversion Capture and convert enterprise and CIO requirements into epics, features, and user stories.Work closely with Business Analysts to ensure documentation quality and traceability. Cross-Functional Leadership Collaborate with:Architects (open source and enterprise)Designers (solution components)Developers (POCs and platform build-out)Guide teams on best practices, standards, and reusable platform components. Your Profile Essential Skills / Knowledge / Experience Core Experience 12+ years in platform, product, or observability engineering roles, with principal-level responsibility.Strong experience with OpenTelemetry (OTEL) ecosystems.Deep understanding of Kafka-based data pipelines.Proven experience with time-series databases (e.g., Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, OpenSearch, InfluxDB, etc.). Technical & Platform Expertise Platform design for large-scale, distributed systems.Strong knowledge of open-source observability stacks.Experience driving POCs into enterprise-grade solutions. Leadership & Communication Proven experience engaging with CIOs and senior technology leaders.Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Strong documentation and storytelling skills.JBRP1_UKTJ
