The Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process at Akari Care, ensuring value for money and high-quality services and supplies. This role involves leading supplier tendering, managing supplier relationships, and providing procurement expertise across various cost categories. The Procurement Manager will also line manage a Procurement Administrator and work closely with the Operations Finance Business partner. Main duties of the job The Procurement Manager's key responsibilities include: leading and managing supply tendering processes, continuously seeking optimum supply relationships to mitigate risk, performance management of key suppliers, managing procurement projects between suppliers and care homes, providing procurement expertise in cross-functional projects, managing the supplier and contractor compliance process, setting up new suppliers, and maintaining contract and supplier listings. Job responsibilities Package Description: Procurement Manager Overview of Role and Responsibilities Procurement Leadership and management of supply tendering processes, to ensure that Akari obtains value for money and high quality services/supplies. End to end management of such processes, from definition of requirement, sourcing, tender analysis, negotiation and implementation Continuous search for optimum supply relationships, in order to mitigate supply chain risk Performance management of key suppliers utilising feedback from Home Managers Management of Procurement projects between supplier and end customer, (our Care Homes) Provision of Procurement expertise in cross functional projects The role will span procurement activity across a wide range of direct and indirect cost categories Management of Supplier and contractor compliance process New supplier set ups - end to end process with supplier and finance colleagues Working closely with Operations Finance Business partner to analyse spend data to inform Procurement activity Maintain contract and key supplier listings with most up to date information, and ensure budget holders and stakeholders have the correct information Line management of Procurement Administrator Personal Qualities and Experience Team player hands on, sleeves up approach Proactive in seeking guidance when working beyond current knowledge or experience Strong communicator with the confidence to positively challenge, influence and support at all levels Proven analytical skills backed up by excellent commercial acumen Positive, self-motivated and able to work effectively without close supervision and on own initiative Highly organised / structured approach, with the ability to co-ordinate a large number of tasks simultaneously and to tight deadlines Excellent communication and presentational skills to differing roles in the business About Us At Akari Care, we provide residential and nursing care services to the elderly across the UK. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Salary: c. £35,000 - £37,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus benefits Person Specification Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have line management experience, be a strong communicator with the confidence to challenge and influence at all levels, and possess excellent analytical and commercial acumen. They should also be proactive, self-motivated, and able to work effectively without close supervision.
