Overview
Secondment opportunity within the Procurement Services team to support the provision of excellent service to the University's hubs. The post holder will work closely with hub and department stakeholders to manage procurement needs, ensuring compliant activities and best value for money.
Responsibilities
Support procurement expertise to hub and department stakeholders.
Deliver procurement exercises to achieve best‑value contracts and continuous improvement solutions.
Review current supply chains and advise on optimal procurement arrangements, considering operational, regulatory, or funder compliance and applicable deadlines.
Provide training, support and dissemination of best procurement practice to non‑procurement staff.
Collaborate with the wider Procurement team to support category strategies.
Qualifications
Experience managing complex tenders and supplier relationships in a public‑sector context.
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Focus on continuous improvement, innovation and ethical, sustainable, inclusive procurement.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Solid knowledge of procurement best practice; public‑sector procurement regulations are desirable.
