Procurement Coordinator – Permanent | £31,297- £32,983 | Full-Time (36.5 hrs)
Location: Digbeth (with flexibility to work across centres)
Are you an organised, detail-driven procurement professional looking for your next challenge? This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in ensuring efficient, cost-effective procurement across a busy Further Education environment.
We’re currently supporting a college in Birmingham who are seeking a proactive Procurement Coordinator to manage end-to-end procurement processes, deliver value for money, and support the smooth running of college operations.
What You’ll Be Doing Procurement Management
- Deliver value for money across all purchasing activity
- Develop and implement effective procurement strategies
- Conduct market research and assess potential suppliers
- Lead on tenders, bid evaluations and contract negotiations
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and relevant regulations
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain positive relationships
Operational Support
- Work closely with internal departments to understand their needs
- Support the timely delivery of goods and services
- Resolve procurement, delivery or supplier-related issues
Compliance & Reporting
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation
- Ensure health and safety compliance within procurement activity
- Produce reports on procurement activity and performance
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Proven procurement experience (education sector preferred)
- Excellent negotiation, communication and analytical skills
- Strong understanding of procurement regulations and best practice
- Confident using procurement software and Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Professional procurement certification (e.g., CIPS)
Desirable:
- Experience in sales
- Experience managing large-scale procurement projects
- Advanced Excel skills / ERP system experience
- Knowledge of public sector procurement regulations
