Procurement Assistant – London

£35,000–£45,000 + package (including CIPS sponsorship)

central London (2 days per week)


Our client is a leading UK food manufacturer operating across multiple UK sites, supplying well-known retail and commercial customers. Their Procurement function is undergoing a significant transformation, led by a world-class Chief Procurement Officer who is building a best-in-class, data-driven and strategically focused organisation.

The Role

This is a key support role within the Procurement function, combining core administration with exposure to transformation activity.


You will play an important role in improving processes, enhancing data quality, and supporting the shift towards a more structured, insight-led procurement function. This role offers strong development potential, with a clear pathway into Buyer and Procurement Manager positions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver accurate and timely procurement administration
  • Support procurement transformation and process improvements
  • Prepare presentations and reporting for stakeholders
  • Track and analyse contract usage, identifying trends and insights
  • Maintain data integrity across SAP (contracts and POs)
  • Support improved reporting, visibility and governance
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives


Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical capability
  • Power BI experience is highly desirable
  • Interest in data, digital tools and AI-driven ways of working
  • Good working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems
  • Confident working with data, reporting and insight generation
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proactive, curious and improvement-focused mindset
  • Team player with a positive “can-do” attitude
  • Ambition to progress into Procurement Buyer / Manager roles
  • Educated to A-Level standard (degree desirable)
