Process Engineer

The Company:
Our client strives to be the best innovator of high-performance glass and glazing solutions. They now have an exciting opportunity for a Process Engineer, and are offering a competitive salary up to £45,000 depending on experience.
Location:
The Process Engineer position will be based at the company's site near Wigan, easily commutable by road from Merseyside including Liverpool, Ormskirk, Skelmersdale and Manchester. Please note a full UK driving licence and car ownership is required due to the company's location.
Key responsibilities will include:
Produce mass and energy balances.
Develop engineering drawings e.g. PFDs and P&IDs.
Participate and lead in process safety assessments e.g. HAZOP and DSEAR assessments.
Package management of unit operations, process equipment and specification to factory acceptance testing, installation, and commissioning.
Support and take a lead role during the design, implementation, and commissioning of capital projects.
Work closely with R&D and manufacturing to improve the coating process.
Manage and control contractors in the UK and overseas.
Lead the chemical commissioning of a coating plant.
Your Background:
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:
Bachelor’s degree (and ideally Master’s degree) in Chemical Engineering.
3-5 years worth of industry experience within process engineering.
A working knowledge of key legislation (COMAH, ATEX Directive and PED).
Chemical plant design and/or operations experience.
