Red Snapper Recruitment is currently seeking a Probation Services Officer to join the National Probation Service at Ealing Magistrates Court.\n This is an excellent opportunity for a practitioner to support vital frontline probation work within a busy Magistrates Court environment. The successful candidate will be based fully on site at Ealing Magistrates Court, working closely with court teams to deliver high-quality Pre-Sentence Reports, undertake court duty, and support daily probation operations.\n\nJob Summary\n\nLocation: Ealing Magistrates Court, W13 0SD \nContract Type: Temporary, 6 months with possibility of extension\nHours: Full-time, 37 hours per week\nRate: £18.59 p/h PAYE or £24.48 p/h Umbrella\nWorking Pattern: Fully on-site, Monday to Friday\n Key Responsibilities\n\nProduce timely and high-quality Pre-Sentence Reports (PSRs), including same-day oral and written reports.\nAct as Court Duty Officer, supporting daily court operations.\nManage PSR requests, complete results processing, and issue initial appointments following sentencing.\nEngage with court staff, probation colleagues, and partner agencies to support accurate and efficient sentencing processes.\nMaintain accurate case records and updates within probation case management systems.\nRepresent the Probation Service professionally in a fast-paced, dynamic court setting.\n Essential Requirements\n\nExperience working within the Probation Service as a PSO.\nPrevious Court experience\nStrong understanding of probation processes, risk management principles, and report-writing standards.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and defensible reports.\nAbility to work effectively under pressure, managing competing priorities in a busy court environment. \n\nThis role is subject to pre-employment checks and probation Enhanced level 1 vetting.\n If this role is not for you but you know someone who may be interested, please refer them.
