Private Sector Housing Team ManagerLocal Authority | West LondonA highly regarded local authority in West London is seeking an experienced Private Sector Housing Team Manager to lead a high-performing Environmental Health function focused on improving standards across the private rented sector.This is a senior leadership opportunity for a proven manager with strong regulatory experience, particularly within housing enforcement, HMO licensing, and private sector housing standards.The OpportunityReporting directly to the Head of Environmental Health Services, you will lead a specialist team delivering frontline regulatory services across private sector housing.You will oversee 4 direct reports (Senior Officers/Team Leaders) and a wider team of approximately 16 staff, ensuring high-quality service delivery aligned to statutory duties and corporate objectives.This role combines strategic leadership, operational delivery, and high-level casework, including enforcement and policy development.Package & BenefitsSalary: £68,685 - £78,513 per annumHybrid working: 3 days office / 2 days remoteGenerous annual leave entitlementMembership of the Local Government Pension SchemeFlexible working arrangementsOngoing professional developmentKey ResponsibilitiesLead, manage and develop a multidisciplinary housing enforcement teamOversee property licensing schemes (including HMOs), inspection programmes, and enforcement activityDirect complex investigations, including civil penalties, prosecutions and Rent Repayment OrdersDrive initiatives to identify rogue landlords, unlicensed properties and poor housing standardsManage team performance, budgets (£500k-£1m), and service delivery plansContribute to departmental strategy and corporate objectivesBuild strong partnerships with internal departments and external stakeholdersRepresent the service at senior-level meetings, committees and member briefingsAct as deputy to the Head of Service where requiredAbout YouEssential:Significant management experience within a local authority, council, or housing association (this is a strict requirement)Proven experience leading teams within Private Sector Housing / Environmental HealthStrong knowledge of:Housing Act legislationHMO licensing and enforcementCivil penalties and regulatory frameworksDegree/Diploma in Environmental Health (CIEH recognised)Registration with the Environmental Health Officers Registration BoardDemonstrable experience managing performance, budgets, and changeStrong stakeholder engagement and political awarenessYou will also demonstrate:Strategic thinking and leadership capabilityAbility to manage complex casework and competing prioritiesExcellent written and verbal communication (committee reports, member briefings)A commitment to public service, community outcomes and high professional standardsApply now for a confidential discussion and further details.Linsco is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.JBRP1_UKTJ
