Private Client Solicitor

3 Days Old

Step into the go-to Private Client role locally, real autonomy, not just a titleLead and shape a junior-heavy team with plenty of work already in placeHybrid working (2–3 days from home) in a firm genuinely known for its people-first cultureThis role exists because the team has grown, quickly. There’s a strong pipeline of private client work across multiple Yorkshire offices, but locally the teams are junior-heavy and need someone experienced to steady things and lead from the front. You’ll walk into an established caseload spanning wills, probate, LPAs, trusts and more complex estates. In the first few months, the focus is simple: take ownership, get to know the clients, and become the person others turn to for guidance.Over the first year, your role naturally broadens. You’ll support and mentor junior lawyers, help improve consistency across the team, and build stronger relationships with clients and referrers. There’s no expectation to overhaul everything, but your input will genuinely shape how the team develops.Longer term, this becomes a leadership position in all but name. You’ll be the senior presence locally, helping grow the offering and influencing the direction of the department, while still being supported by a wider, well-established team. The culture strikes a good balance, collaborative without being overly structured, supportive without being restrictive. You’ll have autonomy day-to-day, but you’re not left on your own.Who we’re looking forQualified Solicitor with strong Private Client experienceExperience handling complex estates and trust workProven ability to manage a full caseload independentlyExperience mentoring or supporting junior colleagues (Desired)STEP qualified or working towards STEP (Desired)Strong technical knowledge across wills, probate, LPAs and estate planningConfident working autonomously and being the senior figure in an officeStrong client relationship and communication skillsCollaborative and supportive approach to team developmentWhat you’ll be doingManaging a broad private client caseload from start to finishAdvising on complex and high-value estates, including tax planning and trustsDrafting wills, LPAs and administering estatesActing as a senior presence locally, supporting junior lawyers and traineesBuilding and maintaining strong client and referrer relationshipsWorking collaboratively across multiple offices within the wider teamSupporting the growth and development of the private client offeringSalary & BenefitsHybrid working, typically 2–3 days from home5 weeks’ holiday + bank holidays + additional company daysOption to buy/sell leaveEnhanced parental leaveBupa membership (including cover for children)Life assurance, income protection & critical illness coverPension schemePerks and retail discounts platformStrong focus on wellbeing, flexibility and long-term career developmentClear opportunity to grow into a leadership role locallyContact Bill Szajna-Hopgood📩bill.szajnahopgood@realmrecruit.com📞 03300 245 606If you’re ready to step into a role where you’re trusted to lead, without being micromanaged, Bill can talk you through how this would work day to day. #J-18808-Ljbffr
