Private Client Solicitor – Leeds

A leading UK law firm with offices nationwide is seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join its highly regarded Private Wealth team in Leeds.

The Team

The Private Wealth team has an excellent reputation for advising clients on all aspects of their personal legal affairs. The team acts for a diverse client base, including high net worth individuals and offers comprehensive lifetime and post-death planning services. Team members include STEP-qualified practitioners and members of the Association of Lifetime Lawyers.

The Leeds-based team has been recognised at regional legal awards, including being named Private Client Team of the Year and shortlisted again in recent years.

The Role

Working closely with Partners and established teams across the firm's Northern offices, you will play a key role in growing the private client practice and delivering an exceptional level of client service. The role has a strong business development element, with opportunities to build on existing intermediary relationships while developing new networks.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing your own caseload of private client matters, including high-value and complex probate and estate planning for high net worth individuals
• Supporting other case handlers within the team and wider department as required
• Supervising and mentoring junior team members
• Advising clients on their personal and financial affairs and taking instructions
• Attending client meetings, including travel where required
• Preparing and managing correspondence, notes and legal documentation
• Contributing to marketing and business development initiatives
• Meeting agreed financial, chargeable hour and KPI targets
• Ensuring deadlines, quality standards and internal procedures are adhered to
• Working in line with the firm's values and professional standards

This role may also involve additional duties consistent with the seniority and scope of the position.

About You

• Qualified Solicitor
• Strong, broad experience across private client law, with particular expertise in high-value and complex probate and estate planning for HNW clients
• STEP qualification desirable
• Demonstrable business development experience: an existing network of contacts would be a strong advantage
• Excellent IT and technical skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly organised with excellent time management
• Able to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines and targets
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Flexible and proactive approach
