This role would ideally suit a solicitor with 5+ years' PQE, although those with strong Private Wealth experience prior to qualification will also be considered. You’ll manage a varied and high‑quality caseload covering all aspects of Private Client work, including: Core Areas of Practice:
Wills and estate planning Probate and estate administration Trust creation and management Lasting Powers of Attorney
Working closely with a Partner, you will also play a key role in the ongoing development and success of the department. Key Responsibilities:
Wills & Estate Planning
Draft simple and complex Wills, including tax‑efficient structures Advise on inheritance tax, succession planning and asset protection Conduct client meetings and deliver tailored estate planning advice
Probate & Estate Administration
Manage matters from instruction through to estate closure Prepare IHT returns, probate applications and estate accounts Liaise with HMRC, clients, beneficiaries and third parties Handle a mix of straightforward and more complex estates
Trusts
Advise on trust creation, administration and termination Draft trust documentation and support ongoing compliance Assist trustees with legal and regulatory obligations
Lasting Powers of Attorney
Draft and register LPAs Advise clients on responsibilities, capacity and related issues
Client Care & Compliance
Deliver high standard of client service with sensitivity and professionalism Ensure compliance with SRA, AML and GDPR requirements Maintain accurate and well‑organised case files
Ideal Candidate
Confidence managing your own caseload independently Strong technical knowledge across Private Client matters Excellent organisational and communication skills A proactive, professional and client‑focused approach The will to contribute to the growth of a successful department
