Role: Private Client (Trust & Estates) Paralegal

Location: London Bridge

About the job

We are recruiting for a paralegal to join the Probate, Trust and Private Client team. You will play a crucial role in supporting a small but well-established, specialised, Tier 1 legal directory team handling varied and complex files.


Job Responsibilities:

You will assist in all aspects of a busy and interesting caseload to include:

  • To assist in the provision of administrative and legal services for clients, including:
  • Taking new enquiries and communicating directly with the client
  • Drafting Lasting powers of attorney
  • Drafting straightforward wills
  • Assisting with the administration of estates
  • Preparing estate accounts (Excel)
  • Following up on documents and information needed for estate accounts
  • To assist where requested with the provision of legal advice to clients, under supervision.
  • Delegate and supervise tasks where appropriate.
  • Work as part of a team under the supervision of a firm partner.
  • Provide an efficient and friendly service to our clients.
  • Manage professionally and confidentially, written and telephone correspondence with clients, other solicitors and third parties
  • Maintain client care standards as set out in the firm’s terms of business and office manual.


Job skills and qualifications:

  • A law degree, or equivalent experience in a legal environment, is preferred.
  • Must demonstrate a mature and empathetic approach to clients who may be dealing with a difficult and stressful process.
  • Must be well organised, use initiative, prioritise appropriately, show attention to detail, manage your own workload and meet deadlines.
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills (be respectful, positive, articulate, professional and sympathetic).
  • Must adopt a “can-do” approach, show commercial awareness and represent the department and firm appropriately.
  • Must be reliable, show commitment and be a supportive team player.
  • Must reflect the firm’s culture in your presentation internally and externally.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency with case management systems and standard office software.
  • Experience with a case management system is required.


Future Progression:

  • It is possible to progress within the firm and undertake additional qualifications to become a solicitor or a legal executive.
