My client currently has an opportunity for an enthusiastic professional to work in the company's Environment Department.\n\nThey are a fresh and dynamic multi-disciplinary consultancy, delivering engineering, environmental and town planning services throughout the UK to an impressive client base including many blue-chip organisations. Founded over 10 years ago, they are on track to meet an ambitious growth plan.\n\nCurrently, the company employs people operating from regional offices located across the UK with client-focused teams consistently delivering high quality services and support to the rapidly growing number of clients.\n\nYour new role\n\nAs a proactive Principal or Associate Environmental Consultant, you will be required to work within the Environment Team on a variety of environmental permitting projects primarily in waste management, waste recycling, mineral extraction and energy.
Your responsibilities and duties will include, although not be limited to;\n\nThe production and management of permit applications primarily for waste management facilities and minerals developments including:\n\nManaging determination process\nManaging legislative issues for clients and maintaining an awareness of how legislation impacts projects\nInterpreting data and report writing.\nBuilding and maintaining client relationships and managing expectations\nIdentifying decision makers and interpreting customer requirements to generate business in the environment team and other areas of the company.\nWhat you'll need to succeed\n\nRelevant degree in Environmental Sciences, or a related environmental discipline\nThorough understanding of UK environmental legislation and the Environmental Permitting regime in England & Wales and the regulatory regime in Scotland\nProven skills in undertaking and assessing environmental permit applications\nNumerate with competent and efficient report writing skills\nWell organised and able to prioritise workload with minimal supervision\nProficiency in use of IT packages (including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)\nStrong oral and written communication skills in English\nFull UK driving licence.\nWhat you'll get in return\nYou'll be part of a friendly and professional team in a growing company where your ideas will be welcomed, and your efforts and results will be noticed and rewarded, with excellent opportunities for further career advancement to senior management in the near future.\n\n£45,000 - £60,000 - Depending on your experience.\nFull-time remote/flexible working (offices are available if you'd rather).\nFull BUPA healthcare.\nPension plan.\nCar allowance.\n25 days annual leave, rising after years of service.\nOpportunity to become a director and move into senior management in the near future.\nFlexible benefits.\nWhat you need to do now\nIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call me now.\nIf this job isn't quite right for you but you are looking for a new position, please contact me for a confidential discussion on your career.\n\nHays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
