Are you an experienced transport planner looking to take the lead on development planning projects across the UK? We're working with a well-regarded and fast-growing consultancy specialising in transport and infrastructure planning for private sector developments.

They're looking to appoint a Principal Transport Planner to lead and manage the delivery of transport planning support for planning applications across residential, commercial, and mixed-use schemes.

\n

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong development planning experience to step into a leadership role with project responsibility, client exposure, and team development opportunities.

\n\nThe Role\n

As a Principal Transport Planner, you'll be responsible for leading projects from inception to completion, managing client relationships, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring high-quality outputs. Key responsibilities include:

\n Leading the preparation of Transport Assessments, Statements, and Travel Plans\n \n

Overseeing site access feasibility reviews and development masterplan support \n

Designing parking, servicing, and active travel strategies \n

Managing technical modelling using tools such as TRICS, Junctions 9, and LINSIG\n \n

Coordinating with planning consultants, architects, and design teams \n

Preparing documentation for pre-apps, planning submissions, and appeals \n

Presenting to clients, stakeholders, and local authorities as required \n

Supporting the growth of the team through mentoring and business development \n

\n\nRequirements\n

\n 6+ years' experience in UK transport planning, with a focus on development planning \n

Proven track record of delivering high-quality planning application support \n

Strong understanding of the planning system and /local transport policy \n

Proficient in TRICS, Junctions 9 (ARCADY, PICADY), LINSIG, and AutoCAD \n

Skilled in technical report writing and client communication \n

Ability to manage multiple projects and support junior team members \n

Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, or related field \n
