Principal Systems Engineer\n\nEdinburgh OR Newcastle - fully onsite \n\n12-month contract\n\nPaying up to £70p/h (Inside IR35)\n\nRole overview: Our client is looking for an experienced Systems Engineers to contribute to the continued development of an in-service radar system, by supporting the planning and analysis of radar trials (rig-based and flight trials). \n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nWork with large datasets from rig and flight trials, and use analytical techniques to evaluate radar performance against requirements and raise Systems Problem Reports (SPR) for detailed investigation.\nApply signal processing, image processing, and object classification techniques to extract actionable insights.\nInvestigate system anomalies using real trial data, ensuring performance meets specifications.\nWork collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and prototype cutting-edge defence solutions.\nContribute to System Verification & Validation (V&V) activities as part of the continuous development / enhancement of the Radar System. \n\nRequired Skillset:\n\nStrong experience with MATLAB, particularly for use in analysis of large data sets.\nFull V-model lifecycle experience, with an emphasis on the middle to right side (implementation, integration, testing, and V&V).\nExperience in safety-critical systems.\nAn understanding of radar or complex sensor systems would be beneficial.
