Role: Principal Structural Engineer\n\nLocation: Manchester\n\nSalary: c£70K (Depending on Experience)\n\nResponsible for solutions, design deliverables and technical standard for structural designs\n\nJob Description\n\n * Ensure design team produce design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements.\n\n * Approve design deliverables, DRAs, reports and specifications\n\n * Identify appropriate and efficient design solutions from scopes and site visits and communicate these to client and project team\n\n * Direct and develop engineers, CAD technicians and graduates.\n\n * Guide design in compliance with relevant technical, professional and water company standards.\n\n * Ensure project change for design packages is fully implemented and recorded.\n\n * Ensure work is undertaken using formal processes and procedures.\n\n * Estimate hours required for design packages\n\n * Attend and present designs at ALM, KM meetings and similar\n\n * Review, interpret and brief standards, procedures and changes to them\n\n * Undertake the role of Professional Head for discipline and Responsible Engineer/CRE for specific projects\n\n * Provide key technical guidance for projects and tenders and ensure continuous improvement of technical standards.\n\nExperience Required\n\n * 10 years’ structural design experience at senior or principal engineering level\n\n * Significant structural design experience within one or more of the following regulated industries:\n\n * Rail, Water, Oil and gas, Nuclear, Highways, Bridges\n\n * Graduate or HND\n\n * Good level IT\n\n * Chartered engineer
