Morson are working with the UK's leading defence manufacturer who are looking for a Principal Quality Engineer to join the team in Barrow.Role Description The role of the Quality Engineer is to support to the Quality Function in order to achieve a scope of work which ensures that the Business Unit remains compliant to the local Quality Business Management SystemCompetent Quality professional capable of managing own tasks, delivering results, escalating problem areasProviding guidance to more junior members of the immediate teamConducts specialist Quality activities in accordance with relevant processes and proceduresDomain areas include, but are not limited to: Quality Assurance, Supplier Quality Assurance, Supplier Improvements, Quality Improvements, Quality Engineering, Quality Reporting, Quality Systems, Quality Records, Strategic Manufacturing, Field Engineers, Receipt Inspection, Site Redevelopment Programme Core Duties Work as a fully contributory member of the Quality teamResponsible for demonstrating SHE and responsible business behavioursAble to access, have a clear understanding of and develop the local Management System documentation e.g. policies, procedures, workmanship standards, risk assessments and processes in their related areaSupport the management of non-conformance resolution and corrective actions with key stakeholders and process ownersResponsible for conducting Quality investigationsThe ability to analyse data effectively resulting in themes and corrective actionsContribute in working groups ensuring deliverables are achieved and Learning from Experience (LfE) is captured and appliedCapable of leading and driving a scope of workUse of Company computer systems and software as appropriateThe ability to articulate and deliver Quality objectivesSupport departmental reviews and liaise with the customer when requiredThe ability to critique and tailor issues and ideas in written reports and presentations ensuring accuracy and clarity of meaningSupport the delivery of results via continuous improvement activities Knowledge: Knowledge of ISO 9001/ EN9100 standardsUnderstanding of Business Management Systems, Operational Framework and Operational Assurance processKnowledge of product safetyUnderstanding the importance of cross functional integrationExport requirements knowledge (for example International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)) (where applicable) Skills: The ability to interpret specifications, procedures and contract requirementsExperience of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies Fishbone, 5 Why, relationship diagrams, six sigma etc. gathering and analysing evidence cross functionallyEffective action management and verificationEffective stakeholder management (including with the customer) Qualifications: HNC or degree qualified in an appropriate technical discipline or equivalent experienceQuality professional, lead auditor status or equivalent experience If this role is of interest to you please submit an up to date CV.JBRP1_UKTJ
