Principal Project Manager / Associate Project Manager, Transport Project Management Team

Ramboll is seeking both Principal Project Managers and Associate Project Managers to provide project & programme management services for internal and external clients across a wide range of transport schemes, including civils, highways, ports, aviation, energy and water sectors. The role involves multidisciplinary management of exciting projects across the UK and Ireland, with flexible working and close interaction with our teams and clients. Occasional travel may be necessary.
Responsibilities
Ensure successful delivery of projects from inception to completion, maintaining scope, contracts, budgets and QA procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
Produce technical and commercial specifications, drawings and schedules compliant with the scope of services.
Lead design workshops and cluster meetings for small projects, or support as an Assistant Project Manager on larger schemes.
Prepare and distribute monthly reports, meeting minutes and programme updates; deliver presentations using MS PowerPoint as required.
Interface with the internal Planning team for programme updates on larger projects, typically produced in Primavera P6.
Facilitate risk management workshops for design and project-related elements.
Manage sub-consultants, including quantity surveyors, architects, landscape architects and specialist designers.
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of fees/costs for client invoicing.
Manage change within project scope to maintain client satisfaction.
Lead bid teams and prepare proposals for multidisciplinary tenders.
Develop positive working relationships with clients, contractors, internal departments, stakeholders and authorities.
Qualifications
Minimum HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline; a relevant degree preferred.
Membership or associate membership of an appropriate construction-focused association (e.g. APM, ICE); otherwise, intent to achieve within a reasonable timeframe.
Experience with health and safety legislation, including CDM Regulations.
Knowledge of procurement methods and contract/commercial administration (e.g. NEC, JCT, ACE, ICE, GC Works, FIDIC).
Excellent communication and IT skills.
Experience in project management within the construction industry, preferably at a multidisciplinary engineering design consultancy.
Experience in bid management for multidisciplinary opportunities.
Experience in construction and design processes.
Ability to write high-quality reports and interrogate financial information.
Capability to manage multiple stakeholder requirements and communicate these back to project teams.
Capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously and prioritising work accordingly.
