Principal Power Systems Electrical EngineerPrincipal Power Systems Electrical Engineer1 week ago Be among the first 25 applicantsDescription – ExternalAboutExternal DescriptionDescription – ExternalJob Title: Principal Power Systems Electrical EngineerLocation: Barrow-In-Furness & Filton / Hybrid (2 days a fortnight onsite at Barrow; 1 day a week onsite at Filton) depending on business needsWe offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular roleSalary: Up to £55,000 (Commensurate with skills and experience)What You’ll Be DoingConducting load flow, short circuit, and stability analysis of an electrical power systemManagement and analysis of the electrical load budgetDeveloping and validating electrical modelsCollaborating with multi-discipline teams, suppliers and stakeholders on matters related to the power systemPreparing technical reports, calculations, and presentations communicating results and advising recommendationsDeveloping and mentoring other team membersEssentialYour skills and experiences:Degree qualified or equivalent experience in electrical engineeringChartered Engineer or working towards chartershipKnowledge of high power and medium voltage power systems and distributionsExtensive experience in Power Systems ModellingExperience conducting electrical load budget and load flow analysisAn understanding in power system analysis software tools (e.g., ETAP, Simulink/Simscape, MATLAB)Stakeholder management experienceBenefitsAs well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts – you may also be eligible for an annual incentive.The Electrical Verification TeamAs part of the Electrical Verification Team, you will be involved in the verification and validation of the power system, conducting analysis, and performing calculations to support the maturity and design of the electrical platform.
