External Description\n\nDescription – External\n\nJob Title: Principal Power Systems Electrical Engineer\n\nLocation: Barrow-In-Furness & Filton / Hybrid (2 days a fortnight onsite at Barrow; 1 day a week onsite at Filton) depending on business needs\n\nWe offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role\n\nSalary: Up to £55,000 (Commensurate with skills and experience)\n\nWhat you’ll be doing:\n\nConducting load flow, short circuit, and stability analysis of an electrical power system\n\nManagement and analysis of the electrical load budget\n\nDeveloping and validating electrical models \n\nCollaborating with multi-discipline teams, suppliers and stakeholders on matters related to the power system\n\nPreparing technical reports, calculations, and presentations communicating results and advising recommendations\n\nDeveloping and mentoring other team members \n\nYour skills and experiences:\n\nEssential\n\nDegree qualified or equivalent experience in electrical engineering\n\nChartered Engineer or working towards chartership\n\nKnowledge of high power and medium voltage power systems and distributions\n\nExtensive experience in Power Systems Modelling\n\nExperience conducting electrical load budget and load flow analysis\n\nAn understanding in power system analysis software tools (e.g., ETAP, Simulink/Simscape, MATLAB)\n\nStakeholder management experience\n\nBenefits: \n\nAs well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts – you may also be eligible for an annual incentive.\n\nThe Electrical Verification Team:\n\nAs part of the Electrical Verification Team, you will be involved in the verification and validation of the power system, conducting analysis, and performing calculations to support the maturity and design of the electrical platform.
