No.: CJD2012C25\n\nLocation: London\n\nSalary: £58,000 - £63,000\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity to join my client, a trusted, innovative Multidisciplinary Consultancy known for lending their expertise to a diverse range of projects across the planning, environmental, and engineering landscapes. They are proactively seeking a capable, experienced Principal Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant who is committed to enhancing Business Development (BD) by proactively seeking to win new, high-profile projects across the Flood Risk and Drainage Sectors.
The role will be based in the iconic, diverse Capital City of London.\n\nBenefits for the role of Principal Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant include (but are not limited to):\n\n- Competitive salary (commensurate with experience)\n\n- Generous annual leave allowance\n\n- Opportunities for hybrid/flexible working\n\n- An inclusive working environment, conducive to both independent and collaborative thinking\n\n- Access to a range of interesting projects across the local region and beyond\n\n- Training and career progression opportunities\n\n- Opportunities to proactively shape the development and future direction of the company\n\nResponsibilities for the role of Principal Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant include:\n\n- Proactively seeking to win new projects for the company, thereby furthering Business Development (BD)\n\n- Managing a team of technical experts and design professionals\n\n- Conducting Flood Risk Assessments (FRA) and producing Drainage Strategies, including Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)\n\n- Completing Hydrological and Flood Risk Chapters of Environmental Impact Assessments, Nutrient Neutrality, and ESG factors\n\n- Undertaking site visits, analysing/interpreting relevant data, and producing technical documents (such as reports, etc.)\n\n- Using the appropriate software packages (including MicroDrainage, Causeway Flow, etc.) to inform and produce designs and other technical documents\n\n- Working with AutoCAD to produce conceptual drainage system designs\n\n- Generating flood risk maps within QGIS (or similar software packages)\n\n- Establishing and maintaining excellent working relationships with clients and other stakeholders\n\nRequired skills and experience for the role of Principal Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant include:\n\nA UK Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, or a cognate discipline\nExperience of winning projects and contributing to Business Development (BD)\nExtensive experience of working in a flood risk and drainage role, within a UK-based consultancy setting\nDemonstrable experience of authoring Flood Risk Assessments and producing Drainage Strategies\nConsiderable experience of managing people and projects\nProficient in the use of a variety of relevant software systems, including MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, Causeway Flow, TUFLOW, and more\nExcellent working knowledge of AutoCAD and GIS software systems\nGood understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite\nOutstanding communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills\nExperience of managing relations with clients and other stakeholders\nDedication to your own Continuing Professional Development (CPD)\nPossess a full, valid UK Driving Licence \n\nDesirable skills and experience for the role of Principal Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant include:\n\nChartered Status, or actively working to attain this\nAn understanding of relevant planning policy, procedures, and regulatory processes within the industry\nPrior experience of producing technical reports for flood modelling studies\nGood knowledge of hydraulic modelling for rivers, surface water, and/or sewer drainage \n\nIf you are interested in the role of Principal Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant, please do not hesitate to contact Caroline Davis at Penguin Recruitment.
