Job Title: Principal Engineer (External Communications Integration)Location: Barrow-in-Furness. On-SiteSalary: Negotiable dependant on experienceWhat you’ll be doing:Maturing the external communications sub-system on the submarine from build to testUndertaking test and trial events on the submarineWorking with subcontractors to come to site to undertake test events. (You will be responsible for managing the visit – submitting security forms, health and safety briefs, on the boat etc .)Defect investigation or non-conformities.

This role is specifically External Communication – working with the operations department to install kit, bringing subcontractors in and other specialists to undertake installation or test activity throughout the lifecycle of the build up to exit.You will have the opportunity to operate the kit and work closely with ship staff on the boat, this will help them through a range of training and handover of the system once the kit has been matured.We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.Why BAE Systems?This is a place where you’ll be able to make a real difference.
