Principal Consultant - Team Effectiveness & Coaching Lead

The role holder will lead the thought leadership, methodologies, and delivery of Q5’s Team Effectiveness and Coaching offer, working within the Organisation Development & Culture practice.

The balance of activities will be 50-60% client delivery and 40-60% product and business development. The role is London-based, with a hybrid and client-locations work arrangement.

There are three core focus areas for this role:

  • Practice Development (including thought leadership and innovation)
  • Business Development
  • Project/Client Account Leadership and Delivery

Practice Development will involve defining and leading Q5’s team effectiveness and coaching strategy, developing a compelling thought leadership perspective, and continuously evolving Q5’s team effectiveness and coaching offering.

  • Develop a compelling thought leadership perspective, articulating Q5’s unique approach to team development and individual development through coaching
  • Establish and manage a robust ecosystem of strategic partners to enhance and complement Q5’s capabilities
  • Act as a visible industry thought leader, representing Q5 in external forums, conferences, and publications

Business Development will involve developing and executing a business development strategy for Q5’s team effectiveness practice, identifying target client segments, and leading the architecting of compelling proposals.

  • Develop and execute a business development strategy for Q5’s team effectiveness practice
  • Lead the architecting of compelling proposals and support Q5 colleagues to develop proposal capability
  • Actively engage in industry networks, conferences, and thought leadership initiatives to elevate Q5’s market presence and credibility in team effectiveness

Project/Client Account Leadership and Delivery will involve leading the design and delivery of high-quality, customized team effectiveness and coaching interventions, establishing and growing recurring account revenue, and mentoring, coaching, and leading project teams.

  • Lead the design and delivery of high-quality, customized team effectiveness and coaching interventions
  • Establish and grow recurring account revenue
  • Mentor, coach, and lead project teams, setting clear objectives, roles, and responsibilities while fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture

The requirements for this role include:

  • 10+ years proven experience in coaching and team coaching, with experience developing and commercializing talent development and/or coaching products within a consulting environment
  • Demonstrated success driving a go-to market strategy, leading business development, growing client accounts, designing initiatives across diverse sectors, and customizing solutions to meet specific client needs
  • Strong business acumen, confidently linking clients’ strategic priorities to team and individual performance

Certifications in executive and team coaching are required (e.g., ICF ACC+, EMCC). The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of coaching principles, methodologies, and tools, as well as thought leadership of personal and team change, and fluency with leadership assessment tools and psychometrics.
