It’s an exciting time to be part of the Fortescue family. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Principal Communications Advisor to join our team in Oxford, supporting our UK workforce with a focus on Electromobility function within Fortescue Zero. In this role, you will drive and deliver internal communications and employee engagement strategies across a dynamic and globally connected portfolio. A key focus of the position is acting as a strategic advisor to the Chief Technology Officer, Electromobility, providing high-quality communications counsel, shaping executive messaging, and supporting the delivery of key priorities across the function. You'll partner closely with senior leadership to ensure clear, consistent and impactful communication of strategy, transformation initiatives and business priorities. You will also play an important role in supporting and delivering key internal events for our UK workforce, helping to create meaningful experiences that bring our people together and strengthen engagement. Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver internal communication strategies and engaging content across company-wide channels. Act as a trusted advisor to the Chief Technology Officer, Electromobility, providing strategic communications support, messaging and counsel. Partner with senior leaders to translate complex technical and strategic priorities into clear, engaging communication. Create and execute tailored communications plans for major projects, transformation initiatives and technology programs. Drive employee engagement through innovative and impactful communication approach. Support leadership with key engagement activities, including town halls, briefings and executive communication. Plan and support internal events for the UK workforce, alongside broader engagement and external activities as required. Ensure all communications reflect Fortescue’s Values and align with global communications, brand and market disclosure guidelines.
Qualifications and Experience
Tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, journalism, digital communications or a related discipline (preferred). Demonstrated experience in internal communications, ideally within an industrial, resources, technology or similarly complex environment (or transferable experience). Experience supporting senior executives, with the ability to provide strategic counsel and influence at leadership level. Strong background in internal communications, with exposure to media, multi-channel content creation, public relations and events. Proven ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences and communication channels. Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Strong writing, storytelling and content development skills.
