Primary Teacher - DE23, Derby Location: DE23, Derby Contract Type: Full-time Start Date: January 2026 Pay Rate: £150–£220 per day (dependent on experience and role) Qualification Required: QTS (UK)
Overview
Education Personnel are working with a well-established primary school in the DE23 area of Derby to recruit a Primary Teacher for a full-time role starting January 2026. This Primary Teacher position is suitable for both experienced teachers and confident ECTs who are ready to take on full classroom responsibility.
The school benefits from extensive outdoor facilities, including large playing fields and dedicated outdoor learning areas that are used daily across the curriculum. PE, sport, and outdoor lessons are a visible part of school life, with pupils regularly learning beyond the classroom. Teachers are encouraged to make full use of these spaces when planning lessons, particularly for PE, science, and topic-based learning.
The school operates with clear routines, shared planning approaches, and consistent expectations across year groups, allowing Primary Teachers to focus on teaching rather than behaviour management. Support is available from experienced colleagues and leadership, with structured planning time built into the week.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum • Take full responsibility for a class, including assessment and progress tracking • Use outdoor spaces and practical resources to enhance learning where appropriate • Differentiate lessons to meet a range of abilities within the classroom • Work closely with teaching assistants and support staff • Communicate effectively with parents and contribute to meetings and school events • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reporting and reviews
The Ideal Candidate
• Holds QTS and has experience teaching in a UK primary school • Confident managing a full classroom and delivering structured lessons • Comfortable teaching across the primary age range (specific year group to be discussed) • Organised, reliable, and able to meet planning and assessment deadlines • Willing to use outdoor facilities and practical learning approaches • Open to feedback and professional development
