Job Title SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary (Autism ARP) Location Lambeth, South London Job Type Full-time | Term-time only | Monday to Friday Start Date ASAP (or negotiable) Salary / Pay Competitive (dependent on experience) Job Description A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lambeth is seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to work within their Autism Resource Provision (ARP). This role involves supporting children with high needs Autism (ASC), helping them to access learning and develop socially, emotionally, and academically. You will be working as part of a dedicated SEN team in a supportive and well-resourced environment. Please note: this role includes personal care, so applicants must be comfortable providing toileting and hygiene support where required, while maintaining dignity and safeguarding standards. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with high needs Autism Support pupils with communication, sensory regulation, and engagement in learning Assist with personal care routines respectfully and professionally Follow EHCPs, support plans, and behaviour strategies Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals Promote independence, inclusion, and emotional wellbeing Ensure a safe and nurturing learning environmentCandidate Requirements Experience supporting children with Autism and complex SEN (preferred) A calm, patient, and empathetic approach Confidence supporting pupils with personal care needs Strong safeguarding awareness Good communication and teamwork skills A genuine passion for supporting children with SENDWhat’s on Offer Supportive school and SEN team Ongoing training and professional development Opportunity to make a meaningful impact Well-established ARP settingSafeguarding This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
