About the Role

As a key member of our Field Engineering team, you will demonstrate how the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform solves complex data challenges for customers. You will build technical and business value through collaboration with Sales and senior architects, conducting hands‑on evaluations, and creating customized solutions.

The Impact You Will Have

• Build successful relationships with clients across your assigned territory to provide technical and business value in collaboration with an Account Executive and a Senior Solutions Architect.
• Generate excitement from clients about Databricks through hands‑on evaluation and Spark programming, integrating with the wider cloud ecosystem and third‑party applications.
• Contribute to building the Databricks technical community through engagement at workshops, seminars, and meet‑ups.
• Become a Big Data Analytics advisor on aspects of architecture and design.
• Support your customers by authoring reference architectures, how‑to guides, and demo applications.
• Develop your pre‑sales skills with the goal of becoming an independently operating Solutions Architect.

What We Look For

• Experience in Data Science / Generative AI / Machine Learning / Data Warehousing or Data Engineering.
• Background in one or more of the following vertical sectors: Real‑money Gaming, Sports, Entertainment, Media, Telco and/or Hospitality; Manufacturing, Energy and Industrials; Travel, Transport and Logistics; Financial Services and Insurance (FSI); Public Sector; Retail / CPG.
• Pre‑sales or post‑sales experience working with external clients.
• Strong communication skills to create narratives, answer customer questions, and align agendas with key interests.
• Ability to independently deliver a technical proposition and identify customer pain points to demonstrate business value.
• Proficiency in a core programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Knowledge of a core Big Data Analytics domain and exposure to advanced proofs‑of‑concept with a major public cloud platform (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience designing and documenting solution architecture.
• Travel to customer sites in the UK (approx. 20‑30% of the time).
• Nice to have: Databricks Certification.
