CAP / Powered Access Engineer

Location: Tonbridge, T12
Salary: up to £50,000
Job Type: Full-time, permanent

The Role:

An established and fast-growing business is looking for a CAP-qualified Engineer to join its team in Kent. This role is primarily depot-based, with occasional site attendance where required.

Youll be responsible for ensuring a fleet of MEWPs is safe, compliant, and maintained to the highest standards, playing a key role in statutory inspections and fleet readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out CAP / LOLER inspections on powered access equipment
• Service, maintain and repair MEWPs including scissor lifts, boom lifts and access platforms
• Complete pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) and fault diagnostics
• Identify mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues and carry out repairs
• Ensure all equipment complies with LOLER, PUWER and company safety standards
• Accurately complete inspection reports, service records and job documentation
• Liaise with depot staff and operations to ensure fleet availability
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop environment

Requirements:

• CAP qualification (Competent Assessed Person) essential
• Previous experience working with powered access / MEWPs
• Strong understanding of LOLER and PUWER regulations
• Mechanical, electrical and/or hydraulic engineering experience
• IPAF licences
• Reliable, safety-focused and able to work independently
