Power Electronics Engineer

A leading research and technology organisation in Newport is looking for a Power Electronics Engineer to join their growing R&D team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting‑edge technologies within a hands‑on, innovative environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

Designing and developing power electronics hardware and software

Circuit design, simulation, modelling and prototyping

Schematic capture, PCB layout and documentation

Testing, validation and fault investigation (including FMEA)

Working with suppliers and supporting full product lifecycle development

What We’re Looking For

Strong background in power electronics (essential)

Industry experience in design, development and testing

Schematic capture & PCB layout skills

C/C++ programming

Degree in a relevant engineering discipline

Desirable: MSc/PhD, Chartered status, automotive or safety‑critical experience (e.g., ISO 26262), broader analogue/digital/thermal/EMI design exposure.
