Shift Pattern: Monday- Friday, 8.30am-4.30pm 37.5 hours per week
Pay: Band 4 - £14.52
We are currently recruiting for a skilled and experienced Plumber to join a busy Estates team within a healthcare environment. This is a key role requiring a high level of technical ability, with responsibility for maintaining, repairing, and improving a wide range of water and plumbing systems across the Trust.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), installation, and repairs to plumbing systems across the Trust estate
* Diagnose, fault find, and repair issues within hot and cold water systems, drainage, heating, and associated plant equipment
* Install, modify, and maintain pipework and drainage systems to required standards
* Ensure compliance with water safety regulations and guidance (e.g. Legionella control, HTM 04-01)
* Maintain accurate documentation, maintenance records, and reports
* Order and manage materials required for maintenance and repair work
* Work in line with Health & Safety regulations, risk assessments, and safe systems of work
* Maintain clean, safe, and accessible work areas, including plant rooms and service areas
Essential:
* Apprenticeship in plumbing with a City & Guilds advanced craft certificate, BTEC, or ONC in a relevant trade
* Extensive experience as a qualified plumber, preferably in a healthcare or complex building environment
* Knowledge of domestic hot and cold water systems, drainage, heating systems, and chilled water systems
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
* Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices
* Competent in using hand tools, power tools, and plumbing equipment
Working Conditions: This role is physically demanding and involves working in challenging environments such as plant rooms, basements, rooftop systems, and confined spaces. Occasional exposure to heat, noise, body fluids, chemical hazards, and sewage may occur. Flexibility is required to respond to emergencies and work outside normal hours when needed.
