Position Overview
The Plant Operator I is responsible for processing gas cylinders and related materials for shipment, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity in a warehouse environment. This role involves hands-on work with gas cylinders, inventory handling, and maintaining production flow.
Key Responsibilities
Pull, label, and pack gas cylinders and hardgoods per order instructions Perform visual inspections for quality, labeling accuracy, and certifications Load and unload cylinders and materials onto trucks and pallets Operate material handling equipment (hand jack, power jack, forklift) Maintain clean and organized production floor Program cylinders with RFID and identification systems Perform inventory checks for cylinders and materials Assist with maintenance of labeling and crimping equipment Apply coatings, remove labels, and prepare cylinders for reuse Support safety and ISO quality programs
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED Ability to read and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Ability to read technical documents, safety manuals, and indicators Strong teamwork and communication skills
Top Required Skills
Ability to follow instructions and SOPs accurately Comfortable working in a team-oriented environment Ability to stand for extended periods (8+ hours)
Qualifications
Experience with SAP (ERP systems) or ISO 9001 standards Previous experience in warehouse or industrial environments Self-motivated and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment
Warehouse setting handling non-toxic gases Exposure to industrial equipment and material handling PPE required: Safety glasses and met-guard boots
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs Frequent standing, walking, and manual handling of materials Ability to work in varied conditions and shifts
