Planner / Senior Planner\n\nRC Frame & Groundwork Package – Near Peterborough\n\n£75,000 - £85,000 + Benefits (PAYE or Self-Employed)\n\nAbout the Employer:\n\nHaving been established for over 30 years within the specialist field of concrete frames and groundworks, this business is, without doubt, one of the leading names within this field. Current turnover is over £100m per annum, and they have consistently worked at the cutting edge of the sector to be one of the best at what they do. They currently complete packages ranging in value from £10m up to £50m each on a mixture of residential, commercial, educational, and leisure projects throughout London, and further around the UK in Cambridgeshire, Birmingham, and other areas.\n\nThis business prides itself on its high repeat business rate and its in-house capability to take complex projects from design through to completion.

And it is worth pointing out that I have never had anyone decide to leave this business in their first 12 months after joining, which shows how stable and successful this company is.\n\nAbout the Opportunity:\n\nWith projects secured, this business is looking to recruit a Planner / Senior Planner for a project near Peterborough. All projects include RC frames, groundwork, and sometimes basement works, and your first project will be a £25m+ package.\n\nWhether you are working on a £10m package or a £50m+ package, the expectation remains the same; as the planner on your project, you will be expected to schedule and programme the works ahead, giving the project manager a clear view of current situations and what is coming next.

This role will be client facing, and site based.\n\nAbout the Requirements:\n\n * You will be critical in supporting the Delivery teams in producing, overseeing and monitoring the contract and construction programmes.\n\n * You will have competence in Asta Power Project (or similar planning software) and a well-developed ability to communicate technical issues clearly.\n\n * You will have the ability to read, absorb and visualise information from drawings and text and convert this into a robust vision for construction.\n\n * Experience of a busy and fast-moving ‘Concrete Frame and Groundwork Specialists’ and the necessary ability to cope under pressure.\n\n * Broad engineering knowledge – knowing when something looks right.\n\n * You will support the PM in briefings to proactively focus design (temporary and permanent), procurement, labour, plant and staff in order to secure programmed dates and milestones.\n\n * Numerate and articulate.\n\nTo fulfil this role, we would ideally hope for the candidate to have spent a proportion of his / her career on building sites as an engineer, project manager or similar, in the specialist field of reinforced concrete frame construction and groundworks, but this is not essential if strong planning experience can be shown in this field.\n\nAbout the Rewards:\n\nThis business offers above-average packages to ensure their staff are happy with their income, and beyond this, to ensure they see this as a long-term move when joining the company. Stability of employment and maintaining a low staff turnover are important in line with everything this business stands for.\n\nFor these positions, we have been given a rough bracket of £75,000 to £85,000 per annum as the salary, which will also include benefits and a structured bonus scheme on top. And we can consider individuals looking to be employed on a self-employed basis, as well as PAYE.
