Role Overview
The Level IV Manufacturing Planner is a senior-level role responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing production schedules to ensure efficient operations, on-time delivery, and cost-effective resource utilization. This position requires strategic planning, cross-functional coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives to support organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Production Scheduling:
Translate overall business strategy into actionable plans for manufacturing, inventory management, make/buy decisions, and distribution.
Develop and maintain detailed production schedules aligned with customer demand and inventory targets.
Proactively adjust schedules to address changes in demand, material availability, or capacity constraints.
Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and operations teams to integrate new products into production plans.
Maintain accurate records of production plans, work orders, and inventory levels.
Monitor production progress and adjust plans to resolve delays, shortages, or priority changes.
Resource Management
Coordinate with procurement, supply chain, and production teams to ensure timely availability of materials and resources.
Monitor and optimize capacity utilization to meet production goals.
Data Analysis & Reporting
Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly KPI reports (e.g., On-Time Performance, Revenue, Earned Hours).
Optimize resource utilization, including labor, equipment, and materials, to meet production targets.
Process Improvement
Lead initiatives to improve planning accuracy, reduce waste, and enhance operational efficiency.
Support continuous improvement projects across manufacturing operations.
Compliance & Standards
Ensure adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
Maintain accurate records in ERP/MRP systems for planning and inventory control.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Act as a key liaison between production, engineering, procurement, and quality assurance teams.
Participate in cross-functional meetings to align production plans with business objectives.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment on timelines and deliverables.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience: 2+ years in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and strong Excel/data analysis capabilities.
Strong PC skills required (MS Office).
Soft Skills: Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, strong communication and collaboration skills, ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
Demonstrated ability to effectively interact and influence personnel of various levels and disciplines
Self-starter, high level of personal accountability, and innovative individual.
