Job Description

IR35: Outside IR35 (Contract)\n\nOur client has a requirement for a Piping Designer, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Manchester, supporting water infrastructure projects.\n\nRole Purpose:\n\nTo provide piping design and 3D modelling support on water industry projects, delivering coordinated, constructible, and maintainable designs using Revit within a multi-disciplinary engineering environment.\n\nJob Role Responsibilities:\n\n * Produce 3D models and General Arrangement drawings using Revit\n\n * Design and layout:\n\n * Wet and dry well pumping stations\n\n * Concrete pump chambers\n\n * Ductile iron and epoxy-coated carbon steel pipework\n\n * Valves and pipe support systems\n\n * Integrate vendor equipment packages into plant layouts\n\n * Model access platforms, stairs, handrails, and maintenance accessways in line with client and industry standards\n\n * Participate in Access, Lifting & Maintenance (ALM) reviews\n\n * Coordinate with civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines to ensure clash-free models\n\n * Maintain drawing registers and ensure documentation complies with company and client standards\n\nExperience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:\n\n * Essential: Proven experience as a Piping Designer within the Water Industry\n\n * Essential: Strong Revit experience in a 3D design environment\n\n * HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)\n\n * Experience with wet and dry well pumping stations\n\n * Experience with ductile iron and epoxy-coated carbon steel pipe systems\n\n * Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Navisworks\n\n * Understanding of pipe supports, plant layout, and equipment access requirements\n\n * Ability to interpret P&IDs and equipment data sheets\n\n * Experience integrating vendor packages into designs\n\n * Knowledge of relevant piping codes, standards, and health & safety requirements\n\n * Strong communication and coordination skills\n\nCompany Information\n\nAt First Recruitment Group we understand just how important it is to secure the right people.
