A well‑established Air Handling Unit (AHU) manufacturer is seeking an experienced Pipefitter / Mechanical Fitter to join their installation and assembly team. This hybrid role combines factory-based AHU assembly with on‑site pipework installation and mechanical fitting.
You will also be required to work away 2/3 times a week, travel time to site is payable working hours, overnight accommodation and food allowance is also provided. Offered as a permanent contract, the role of Pipefitter / Mechanical Fitter provides an attractive salary range, company vehicle and phone.
Your duties as Pipefitter / Mechanical Fitter would include:
* Installing pipework up to 100mm (steel, copper, stainless, etc.)
* Assisting with ductwork connections and AHU services
* Factory assembly and mechanical fitting of AHUs
* Connecting heating/cooling coils, condensate drains and associated services
* Working from technical drawings, schematics and layout plans
* Preparing units for delivery and site installation
* Carrying out on‑site adjustments, modifications and minor repairs
* Supporting installation teams during commissioning and handover
* Ensuring all work meets quality and health & safety standards
Successful candidates for the role of Pipefitter / Mechanical Fitter would require the following:
* Proven experience as a Pipefitter or Mechanical Fitter (essential)
* Experience with AHUs, HVAC systems or ductwork (desirable)
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
* Strong mechanical skills and attention to detail
* Willingness to work both in the factory and on customer sites
* CSCS card, IPAF or PASMA (desirable)
* Full UK driving licence
Location: Bromsgrove, Worcestershire
(Must be flexible as will be required to work away 2–3 days a week)
Salary: £15–£17 per hour, depending on experience
Benefits: Company van, Company phone, Payable working hours include travel time to site, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
Hours: 40 hours per week
Overtime paid at time‑and‑a‑half for hours over 50 per week
